Panettone Pudding

Warm, Steamy Panettone Pudding
4 Tbsp butter, softened
1lb panettone
4 eggs
1 pint heavy cream
1 pint whole milk
2 tsp vanilla extract
4 Tbsp sugar
Powdered sugar for dusting
Preheat oven to 325°F and grease a baking dish with butter. Butter panettone slices, rip into large pieces and arrange in dish, buttered side up.

In a bowl, whisk together eggs, cream, milk, vanilla extract and sugar and pour evenly over panettone. Gently press panettone pieces down into the liquid.

Place dish in a roasting pan and pour hot water around it halfway up sides of dish. Bake 45 minutes or until pudding is set slightly wobbly inside and browned on top.

Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm accompanied with ice cream or whipped cream.
